The National Investigation Department (NID), under the Government of Nepal, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Barmahal, Kathmandu, has announced a vacancy notice for permanent appointment in two key positions: Investigation Officer (Anusandhan Adhikrit) and Investigation Assistant (Anusandhan Sahayak). The recruitment will be conducted through open and inclusive competitive examinations, with the process managed in coordination with the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Eligible Nepali citizens who meet the prescribed qualifications under the Nepal Special Service Rules, 2044 are encouraged to apply online at rabvac.nidept.gov.np. Applications submitted after the deadline or failing to meet requirements will not be processed.

Investigation Officer:
o At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
o Foreign degrees must be certified for equivalence by Tribhuvan University.
Investigation Assistant:
o At least a Proficiency Certificate Level (Intermediate) or equivalent.
o Foreign qualifications must have equivalence certification from the Government of Nepal.
o For SLC certificates issued before 2078/09/07: at least D+ in each subject and minimum CGPA 1.6 in Grades 11 & 12.
Investigation Officer:
o Male: 21–25 years
o Female: 21–30 years
o NID employees: up to 35 years
Investigation Assistant:
o Male: 18–25 years

Investigation Officer: Kathmandu (PSC Office).
Investigation Assistant: Candidates can choose one from PSC offices in Dhankuta, Jaleshwar, Hetauda, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Surkhet, or Mahendranagar.
Investigation Officer: NPR 1,200 (one group) | NPR 400 for each additional group.
Investigation Assistant: NPR 500 (one group) | NPR 150 for each additional group.

Candidates qualifying for the written exam must undergo a detailed medical test at designated hospitals at their own cost.

1. Applications must be submitted online at rabvac.nidept.gov.np.
2. Admit cards can be downloaded after verification of details.
3. Candidates must carry the Admit Card and Original Citizenship Certificate to all exam stages.
4. Only candidates declared medically “fit” will progress further.
5. Recruitment strictly follows the Nepal Special Service Rules, 2044.
